Hint water was started in 2005 by Kara Goldin, a former AOL executive who wasn’t content with the amount of sugar and preservatives present in her children’s juices. As an alternative, she then began creating her own drink by adding slices of fruits like raspberries, pomegranates and lime to her water. Soon, she began creating these drinks in higher quantities at her home and began selling them from her garage. Goldin who was diagnosed with gestational diabetes around the same time and was determined about developing a sugar-free alternative to other drinks, esp. carbonated drinks like Pepsi and other juices. So, in 2005, she quit her job and started Hint Water to become its CEO. Her husband also later on joined her as the COO of the company.
